Is it possible to download someone else's universe

I want it so that the fighters have correct records or at least have some experience - any ideas guys?

it's possible (in 2.5) but not sure who would allow you to do that with their universe ...

You can manually enter a boxer's record via the 'Statistics' page.

The red circle below indicates the ability to edit:

I entered Holyfield's record that I wanted him at for my universe, 32-3-0, and continued from there.

Hopefully this is what you were referring to. If not let me know.

if that is what he was referring to then yeah it is possible ... wasn't there a mod for 2.5 that would import the records from boxrec?

From what I've read it has become cumbersome to use.

That records import utility works perfectly for 2.5, but I haven't tried it in
2.6.

I always wondered why no one ever posted their universes and allowed them to be be downloaded as mods. Many people, including myself have done that for OOTP and other games. Why not for Title Bout? Is there something I'm missing?

Which files would be necessary for that? My universe of randomly generated fighters apparently has 13GB of material in its folder. I would guess that a lot of it would be duplicative for someone who already has the game, but I don't know which parts are needed to transfer from one to the other.

Always thought of doing something along these lines, creating a specific universe with instructions and schedules already compiled.

Fighters.dat, ratingrecords.dat and fighters2groups.dat cover boxers side of it.

maybe it's just me but I have spent 9 years on my universe and would hate to have someone download it and start continuing it on posting outcomes and when fighters turn post and so forth ...

It makes sense to me. A kind of library of start-up universes based on a particular era or theme. It could really enhance the game.

As for me, I'm probably never going to understand how to create a universe unless I see some examples.

I did make a start on this, was going to have each of the current top ten welterweights, as rated by The Ring Magazine, last five fights run as history in universe.

Came across few issues;

Title history does not adjust to match edited history.
Cannot clear boxers statistics screen whilst keeping contest history.

Here's the stripped down version of The Six Immortals.

The best way is just to start messing around with ideas in your head. The chances of the first one you do sticking are low. Part of the fun is the work setting them up. If you tell me what you want, I'd be happy to tell how how I would go about setting it up.

If you want to trade games in TB2013 then the minimum you need to send to someone is the 'gamedata' file in Documents/tbcb2013/saved_games/<gamename>

This will include game history and records but not any log files. If you want the history logs you need to zip up the whole folder.
