I can't get over the "Newspaper"!

At the risk of repeating myself (I think I started a thread a while back on the same topic), I cannot get over the Newspaper feature in this game. Especially now that I have a larger screen resolution - it looks and reads like a newspaper!

The way I use it is this: I have auto-save set for once a week. That is my reminder to stop what I'm doing and have a look at the news for the week.

I don't have to decide what news messages to receive and I don't have to open and read/delete them anymore. It's much easier to just glance quickly at the weekly power ratings in the newspaper than deleting them from my mailbox week after week.

Now I get only personal messages and news about shortlisted players in my mailbox, which is as it should be. League news belongs in the newspaper, to be browsed for the interesting stuff to be read in detail.

That's only because it spits out a real newspaper.

Hmmm. Sarcasm, exaggeration, or better graphics?

I never knew the newspaper existed. Where in game do I find that? Would be good to stop getting League News emails and just read the newspaper on a weekly basis like you are doing.

It's in your league drop down menu and there's a shortcut on the icon bar. As well you can bookmark it.

I never knew it existed either. Isn't OOTP great? No matter how well you think you know it, there's always something cool and new you just haven't noticed yet

Bru, how many threads are you going to start about how much you like the newspaper?

My dream is for each team to have it's own newspaper.

Great idea. I am going to try this in my league. Thanks for sharing.

I use the newspaper much the same way as Bru does. One thing I would like to see added would be a tab with all of the Box scores for the day just like in a newspaper from back in the day. That's how I grew up learning about baseball through box scores in a newspaper.

I also like the idea of team based newspapers.

Please suggest that in the OOTP 15 Suggestion forum. It's a good idea

You can also edit your newspaper as well. Insert your own photos etc. on the write/edit news section.

I never knew until the other day that if you write a game recap(bottom of the boxscore screen) you can post it to the newspaper. That's very cool.

Now, now. Let's not exaggerate. There have only been two . . . that I remember.

I thought this would be a throw away thread but if you, Rizzo, and lukasberger got something out of it, I'm happy.

Well, I kinda thought maybe you were talking about the other game replicating the flash player look that you see with online newspapers - you know, with the fold-down corners and the page-turning effect. A bit much to expect, I guess.
