Patch Question - Online Leagues

I am in 2 online leagues. 1 league said they are waiting the other installed the patch. What happens with the league that has it if I don't install the patch and the other way around if I install it what happens with the league that does not have it?

Install it - it's compatible with the previous version.

They always are and Markus states that right in his release post.
