Custom League. Do i need to worry about real world issue

After playing my first quick start for over a decade, and looking through all the wonderful stuff some of the people around here have created, i am starting to look at creating my own league.

Do i have to worry about stuff like Travel, and time zones? Like if i want my 2 sub leagues to be North America and Europe (no interleague), will it be a problem for the Final Northern Hemisphere Series?

Can i set my AA affiliates in NZ and Australia, and assume that the since they are a day ahead, they will make it in time when recalled :-)?

None of that stuff is really modeled in OOTP, you can just ignore travel, time zones etc. they don't make a difference.

For my EBL vs MLB league I have a ML on Coruscant while their AAA is on Corellia and their AA on Naboo and soon their A on Tatooine and Rookie on Kashyyk. Travel is snot an issue in OOTP but I do try to mimic travel when doing trades with my team and another league like MLB. It takes 7 days to travel from Earth to Endor, 3 from Coruscant to Endor. 4 from Coruscant to Earth.

Interesting that Tatooine did not try and get a AAA affiliates, i thought baseball was really big there.

good idea and trying to fit the time to travel. so someone can play in NZ on the 21 in the afternoon, and be able to be called up by the San Francisco Franchise (name pending) to play on the 21st :-).

i was just worried because when i watch the playoff scoreboard live it seem to reflect Time Zone (broadcaster really hated the one year where the final 4 were all on the west coast)

Right now Tatooine is a Indy ML. They are the only league where Weequays, Wookies, Jawas, Nitkto's, Twi'leks & Gamoreans are commons. Well Pugnose is the only Gamorean but he sucks.

i must say, after hanging around here for almost a month now, i really love the stories of the leagues.... also finding the passion wonderful....

like i can't wait to see how my no name prospect with no future, with no control, but lots of movement and an 80 MHP FB.... i hired Wakefield as the pitching coach, and "thought" him to start throwing a knuckleball (low value, but high potential). 3 years in now he is up to A ball, went 21-1 (actually loss his last start)... i moved Wakefield up with him...

i'm actually having issues now with the idea behind my future league, not wanting just random places, but having a reasons for each one....

What country are you basing it in? Many people create a " What Should I Call This Team" thread. those help a lot.

this was my first problem.. as i have traveled a lot i was trying to cover too much with no unity- and trying to over use the minors to fit this. but on the other hand, i don't really care about that many north american cities, which as the obvious based on MLB

so now i am changing my focus, and inspiring myself by Super15 rugby, and doing a super24 with 4 pods of 6 teams, and farm systems will be way more regionals...

thanks for the heads up on what do i call this team?... that will be great,,,Western Europe has been developing the first division so far the first franchise was awarded to the Brussels Sprouts,,,, (which interestingly enough is not part of the Nickname project )... there was a big rumours last night about the Paris Knights looking at the possibility of playing in Paris St-Germain...

I have no clue about Rugby as I am American and have only seen a hadnful of game on TV. That being said eriqjaffe has a ton of European baseball uniforms and there might be Rugby uniforms on here also. I know Gern44 has made a ton of Soccer uni's. Gern's will be in his photobucket which is linked in his signature, Eriq's are somewhere in the Mods section. An advanced search for all threads that eriq started should find them.

yeah, i have been addicted to all the various thread for the past week. some great inspiration,

The Game. the rugby super15, manages to have a league with 5 teams in NZ, 5 in OZ and 5 in south africa, with a heavily imbalanced schedule. So i'm thinking of 4 division, Europe, North America, OZ/NZ, wanted southern africa for last, but this may be affiliates there, and spread a bit less. still in it's infancy so, probably will change.
