How do you like your 2013 NFL team so far.

I liked the effort the raiders put forth today. Pryor is a beast but got to get McFadden going. Pryor showed he could pass too. Really like the defensive effort. Sick and tired of the me me players. The media was acting like the raiders wouldnt even compete.

Thought the Chiefs looked improved. Gotta bet that the broncos wont make the playoffs. So i have to go for the chiefs and chargers as well this year.
Broncos were impressive for a half but id be concerned about the running game. I dont think they will get 7 tds passing a game. Also seems like they are having too many distractions. The Giants on the road will be a good test.

Rams won, I did not see the game.

Texans at Chargers, hopefully Houston will start strong.

What's not to like? They won. That's all that counts for me.

Obviously I like my QB throwing 7 TDs and no INTs, but I'm not going to start dreaming of the Super Bowl based on one home game (that I partially slept through) against an opponent of unknown quality.

Yeah youve got some common sense. Theres a lot of bronco fans that assume Peyton will throw 7tds every game. Giants will be tough. Ya need to find your running game.

Brady ... what can we say ... very fortunate to have the kicker, though ...

I'm happy that the Lions beat the Vikings, but I'm not thrilled with the penalties they incurred, especially with the one on Suh. Can't that guy go one season without doing something that gets him in hot water?

The offensive line did a good job protecting Stafford, but they stunk on opening enough holes for the RB's.

Ditto for the DL, they were manhandled quite a bit.

But at least they won; I had expected them to lose.

I'm happy the bears won but I'm a little worried about the lack of tackling displayed. The Bengals were literally just plowing through defenders and dragging them past the first down line. Guys were going high on tight ends and just bouncing off. If that doesn't change it'll be a rough year.

I was however, happy to see the bears continue to force turnovers in the post Lovey era. The turnovers are the only reason the Bears won that game. The offense was hit or miss but that is to be expected during the first game with new coaches. I saw plenty enough to be encouraged. Despite one throw under pressure Cutler also looked good.

Even though we won, I am not happy. I am especially not happy about watching every kickoff go through the back of the endzone. Kickoff returns are (were) a nice part of this game and they have essentially taken them away.

Infractions: 1/1 (1)
Problems:
1) QB. No, not Christian Ponder. The entire position. Ponder is terrible but Cassel isn't a short-term nor long-term solution. It doesn't matter who is starting at QB, they'll stack the box and Adrian Peterson will be shut-down most of the game (as seen in Detroit).
2) OL. The offensive line was porous as all get-out. Yes, they were seeing major rush on almost every play, but they couldn't seem to hold the DL at bay for even a few seconds.
3) Coaching. I want to like Frazier, but man...he doesn't seem to fire these guys up. But the offensive play calling is horrendous and predictable. I have sat with knowledgeable football fans (I can pass the sniff test, but these guys are smart footballers) and they call several plays prior to the snap. "Run, up the gut." "Play action." "Watch the slot guy" "Simpson going deep." And it goes on and on.
4) Defense. For how good our defense used to be, it's almost just as bad now. The secondary used to be a major concern, it still is. But now the DL is questionable as well. Jared Allen still gets a little pressure, but not like he used to. Kevin Williams was missed, a lot, it seems. But the one that I miss the most is Fat Pat...it hasn't been the same since he left.
5) Punter. My goodness was this kid shaky in his first game. Kid needs to step it up or the calls for Chris Kluwe to return will grow exponentially.

I am not happy the Bears won (Bengals fan), but I am happy that the Bengals basically outplayed them. And the Bears only forced one turnover (when the fella put the hat on the ball against a WR), the others the Bengals did without assist from the defense (Green allowed one INT off a beautiful pass that hit him right in the mitts).......also the Bears need to send a nice thank you card to Ray Maualuga for the personal foul to end the game and not let the Bengals get a FG try to tie the game....what a brickhead.....never have liked this guy as the center of our defense.....

also not happy about the lack of pressure our vaunted DL put on that punk at QB for the Bears.....

Edit: my favorite thing about the game is that the Bengals are tied for first place, still!...EVERYONE in the division lost......

I agree with most of the above. The Bengals definitely outplayed the Bears the majority of the game. They gifted the game by giving up the ball 3 times. The Bears also forced another fumble that Jennings kicked out of bounds with no one around but bears to recover it. So I was quite pleased with their continued focus on getting the ball on defense. While I agree about the interception off of Green's hands was a total gift, I disagree on the first interception. Tillman made an excellent play on that ball. It was actually a decently thrown ball by Dalton, and while I'll concede that the receiver could have done more to come back to the ball, that's not a play every corner makes.

I also agree that Maualuga was moron.

Yeah, on some games he's going to throw 8.

Win or lose it doesnt seem like people are happy with their teams performance for the 1st week. Obviously the raiders still have a lot to work on and improve so i cant be satisfied with sundays performance though i wouldnt say im unhappy.
One thing i liked is that Pryor can pass. It wasnt a JaFlabby throwing all completions to the TE and running back. Pryor completed 10 passes to Streater and Moore.
Thats good cause he needs to keepvthe receivers involved.

Loved the Boys D this week. Offense left a little to be desired, but the defense was in beast mode during most of the game.

I agree about the first interception....was not a complete gift.....but on a slant in, you'd think the receiver would head in a bit more, wouldn't you?.......the other fumble you mentioned was also forced by the Bears, I agree, but I didn't count it, since it was not a turnover (and none of the Bears seemed to know it was a fumble until the ball was already out of bounds)......

I cannot believe the lack of people screaming about Maualuga's boner.....to me, it has to rank right up there with the stupidest plays of all time.....

Lets see how they look in the next few weeks. I thought they looked really good up front but sucked bigtime in the secondary. I would also hold off on "beast mode" when we gave up 31 points.

You'll get no argument from me there. Between that play and play where two timeouts were taken, the Bengals handed the game over.

If Da Bears stay healthy they can win 11 games. I don't see them winning more then 9. O-Line was finally good. Cutler finally didn't get sacked. Got rid of the ball. Jury is still out. 1 game does not make a season. i have teh Lions winning the central but i have had them doing that for the last 3 years. Maybe I should pick the Packers so they suck. I want Jay to succeed, mostly because I dont see a whole lot of available QB's that are better then him.

Really? Our D-Line was the star(s) of the game. After that opening run they held Peterson to less than a yard per carry, and put an insane amount of pressure on Ponder.

Other than the penalties in the first half, I was thrilled. I still believe we can stop the stupid mistakes, and in the actual on the field play, we dominated. That game leaves me excited for the rest of the season, maybe even more than I already was.
