Defensive Alignments
One of the things I'd like to be able to do is choose my final defensive alignments. For example - in the final innings what I'd like to be able to do is have my 3B move to 2B, and have the guy originally playing 2B be replaced defensively by the third baseman. Currently, I'm limited to replacing players at specific positions, which takes away from players with multi-position eligibility.
If I'm not being clear I'll use names: 3B = Scutaro 2B = Soriano Bench player = Chavez Scutaro moves to 2B, Chavez replaces Soriano in the lineup, Chavez defensively enters at 3B. Currently my options are only to have Chavez replace Scutaro or Soriano . But my best defensive team would have both Scutaro and Chavez on the field at 2B and 3B respectively, but I can't set it up like that if Scutaro starts at 3B.For the next OOTP what I'd love to see is a final defensive alignment screen. That way I could take advantage of players who can play multiple position. For a guy like Ben Zobrist being able to have him start at SS and then have the computer move him to 2B/RF would be amazing. But right now it's really not possible to set it up like that. Really the only thing the computer would need to know is which players should be replaced in the lineup (in this case Chavez for Soriano) and what position switches are necessary (Scutaro to 2B, Chavez to 3B). It can probably be coded just like the lineup depth charts which are already in place. It's a minor thing but as someone who uses a ton of platoons and typically uses players with lots of flexibility it makes a huge difference. Last edited by ThePretender; 10-14-2013 at 10:58 AM. |
