Historical Contracts?

Just got the game today. Playing a custom historical league starting in '72. I have four players showing up in my Potential Free Agents tab, all are in the minor leagues. However, when I look at the Salaries tab, my entire ML roster is showing this as the last season of their contract.

When I click on the players, I do not see an option to offer an extension.

Probably something obvious...but what am I missing?

Also, if it matters, I've been unable to trade as most teams are in the red with regard to finances. This was default generation with current era (70's) financials.

Hmm, are you using the reserve roster, or free agency?

Sounds to me like you are still using reserve-era rules...

EDIT: Especially depends on how your minor leagues are setup. I'm guessing you went historical and then added a minor league or two, perhaps you made one of them independent accidentally and that league uses free agency while the rest is under reserve era.

That's what it was. Wish the creation wizard would be a little more detailed without having to go full blown advanced mode.

I always use Advanced Mode just to make sure everything is perfect the way I want it.
