Just bought the game! Input needed

Hi all! 42 yr old baseball junkie that used to play APBA when he was a kid. Really looking forward to playing in on-line leagues when I get good enough at understanding the game. In the meantime I have a couple of questions as the GUI is a bit overwhelming.
I want to play the 2013 season over again. However I want to make the Wil Myers for James Shields trade go away. Whats the easiest way to re-add the players tot heir original teams (including the minor leaguers)?
Secondly I want to play without being able to see player attributes. I want to base a players playing time off of his performance. How do i turn that off?
Detailed instructions would be great. Thanks in advance!

Start the game in Commissioner mode without choosing a team to manage. Then, take temporary control of the Royals in the Manager area, go the roster, right click and release James Shields. Then, take temporary control of the Rays, right-click and release Wil Myers. then, go to Free Agents or List All Players under the League Menu, locate James Shields and sign him. Then take control of the Royals again and go back to player list, locate and sign Wil Myers. Then play your season, I assume as manager of the Royals?

I think that should do it? I'm pretty new at this, too, though.

I do plan on playing KC's season as I want to see what happens with Myers in RF. So if I do what you say can I then take over KC as a GM after that?

If you become Commissioner, you can just edit each player involved individually and assign them to whatever team you wish - that way, there's no need to re-do the contracts, they'll just move along with the players.

So I just did a force trade in commissioner mode and it worked!
The only thing I dont know how to do is turn off the scouting? or whatever allows me to see player attributes. Can someone walk me through that? Much appreciated!

If I'm understanding this correctly, you simply do not want to see any ratings at all? If so, go to League Menu -> League Setup -> Global Setup. Scroll down the left-hand column and you should see a bunch of "Ratings Scales" options that you can turn off.

If, however, you want to disable scouting yet keep the ratings displayed on player profiles, just go to the same place and uncheck "Complete Scouting System" at the top of the left-hand column.
