convert retired player to coach
Is there a way to do this? Said there was in the release notes but it's not readily apparent how.
Thanks! FYI I think it was just a little addendum in the 14.4.23 release notes. I'm 90-95% positive it was erroneously listed because I've looked all over and can't find it. If it's available, it's buried. Would be a cool feature, bring back some of those old familiar names in fictional leagues. Last edited by Daxil; 09-27-2013 at 06:14 PM. |

I believe you have to be in Commissioner Mode to do it, but I am positive there's a simple menu option for it. I'd check and tell you exactly where, but I don't have my computer with me right now.

Just go into commish mode and right click on the retired player. Select 'turn into coach'. That's it!

Any time I've done this, the player always becomes a bench coach. I've stopped doing it as a result. Has anyone else been able to get a bit more variety when converting a retired player into a coach?

You have to stay in Commish mode and edit the new coach after you create him. You need to decide what type of coach you want him to be and give him better ratings accordingly. Don't know why this feature doesn't work better now, but there it is.

![]() Ok, found this http://www.randomnumbergenerator.com/ I'm just going to go back and look at their personality traits as a player, talents in hitting/pitching and create a starting "low" point based off those ratings and then use the random number generator to give me the final rating. Handle players, veterans, and rookies could be affected by averaging leadership ability, work ethic, and intelligence. Not sure how to go back and find past hitting/pitching ratings? Could just look under their history and average the prior listed personality traits with OSA's Con/Pow/Eye ratings. Lots of ways to do this... Last edited by Daxil; 09-28-2013 at 06:30 PM. |
