Issue I have had forever

Have owned every OOTP (as well as the boxing and ITP games) but as long as I can remember there has been an issue that has made me crazy. In control of a team, I check the box don't allow AI roster changes, but in every league I can remember that only prevents the AI from moving players up and down from the major to the minors. The problem is it does not stop the AI from changing my players positions, there is nothing more frustrating to me than to sim a week or a month and see that my closer has been changed to a middle reliever and my set up man is now my closer or that I no longer have my starting shortstop because he has been moved to second base or so on and so on. Is there a way to stop the AI from changing the positions my players play ? If not, shouldn't there be ???

Right click the player and Set Game Strategy

You can force the AI to play them at whatever position you want.

My problem with that setting is that it forces them into the starting lineup. I'd like 2 buttons:
1. Force position (ie. keep that player at the stated position, and play them there whenever possible)
2. Force start (ie. Force them into the starting lineup)

Having those as distinct options would be really useful, as I have certain players I want to force playing time, but don't care where they play, and have certain guys who I want to learn a new position, but don't necessarily care if they are starters there.

You can also use the editor to make the player better at the position you want him to be at, and/or lousy at the position OOTP keeps putting him in.

Thanks for your replies !! sterjs the problem with that is as soon as I stop playing individual games and sim a week at a time the AI moves my player to a position I don't want him at again ? That seventies guy, thanks but in the case of closer, reliever or starter you don't have that option and I have often had the player moved to a position that he has much lower ratings at than the position I assign him ? I still think after all these years that the checking of the no roster changes by AI should include position changes and I'm not sure but it doesn't seem like it would be a big fix problem. If it is, does anyone know of a way to prevent the AI from changing the player position from what I assign it to be ???
