Why aren't there more quickstarts? Anyone have a league to share?

I haven't had a lot of OOTP time lately, but I keep searching the Quickstart mod forum in hopes some people would put up quickstarts that would appeal to me. I want to get into a new solo OOTP game, but the tediousness involved in testing a new league, getting all logos set up, schedule, etc etc doesn't appeal to me as much anymore and by the time I try to get around to doing this stuff I have run out of OOTP time.

People in the OOTP world share so many different things, but it doesn't seem many people share their leagues... Even if it's not a quickstart, would anyone have a download file for an already set up fictional league that they are willing to share with the community and me?

Also, I seem to recall reading something about the way jerseys/logos display in previous versions of OOTP is different than what it is now (something to do with the caps, maybe??) ... Does jersey/logo files that used to work in OOTP 13, 12, earlier versions still work for OOTP 14? What are the best resources/location that people use these days for fictional logos/jerseys?

Not sure if this is one you would be interested in. I did this one earlier this year. Fictional league with logos, jerseys, caps, etc for majors and minors.

Very nice. I had played around with this a bit in OOTP13, I wasn't aware there was a V14 version of it, thanks.

Anyone else?

I'm working on one. There's an introductory thread for it here <http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/board/ootp-mods-rosters-photos-quick-starts/234976-baseball-league-americas-large-fictional-quickstart-way.html>

Is it possible to download previous OOTP MLB quickstarts so one doesn't have to go through the hassle of converting version by version?

I have an 8 team CBU (Canadian Baseball Union) set-up.

AA and rookie are the only minors levels. The league includes a 16 team, 2 Div, Col feeder league. All real universities in Canada.

All teams, including University, come with uniforms/caps/logos (many thanks to the guys who did these on the Mod forum).

I ran a number of years tests and players develop just fine with the 2 levels. I like to keep my leagues small, and mostly just use reserve rosters. The reason I added the minors is because the league is set-up as stats only.

It's easy enough to change the settings though if SO isn't your thing.

Play-offs are set for top 3 teams, 1st place gets bye, 2nd vs 3rd in a 3 game series with all 3 games at home of 2nd place team. Winner meets 1st for Confederation Cup. Includes some Canadian touches to the league, such as Top Pitcher gets Ferguson Jenkins Award, Top Hitter - Larry Walker Award. And of course, being a vet myself, I'd be remiss if I didn't include them. Since your league in your League needs a name, I called it the Veterans Memorial League.

Also has custom built schedule - 112 games, 16 games against each team. All series are 4 games, then an off day. So you get off days on weekends sometimes too. Rotations set to 4 man.

Anyway, if someone's interested I'm happy to share.

I have a 2013 modded MLB QS with 32 ML teams (added Portland and Salt Lake City, moved Toronto to Charlotte) in four divisions (no wild cards) where every ML team has one AAA, one AA, one A, one SSA, and one Rookie League team. I doubted if there was any interest so I never made it available.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

That's because a WTP file is an OOTP template file.

OK, so what does that mean? How do I use a template to run the actual league?

I am unfamiliar with this type of file.

I PMed ya. I dont seem to have a ABF QS for 14 right now. I have one for 13, let me know if you need me to convert it for ya.

EDIT: I have and update d2006 ABF for 14 available but its 456 MB so its too big for Mediafire i would have to upload it to uploading.com or Depfile. Let me know if you want it.

I am working on a 16 team fictional that is set to default to Stats only, but obviously you could turn ratings on. It comes with 4 levels of minor leagues (AAA, AA, A, Rookie) and has a HS & College feeder league. International talent is set to off because of Stats only since there is no way to have stats on them when the game creates those players.

Just about done with it.
