Player Position Keeps Changing

I drafted some guy that I'd like to attempt to convert into a starter. I set him as a starter and then I keep looking to see that he's been reset to a CL.

I believe this is happening when I occasionally have the AI do a "set up complete minor league system". Is there a way to still be able to have the AI do these promotions and demotions yet not modify a player's position?

Also, since I already have minor leaguers promotions and demotions set to "Minor League Managers" how come when I click "set up complete minor league systems" things change? Shouldn't they already be the way the AI wants them?

You can force start him at closer.

Don't worry about what position he's listed at.

right click -> set game strategy -> Force Start -> Starting Pitcher in case you're wondering how to force a player to start at a position.

Cautionary note on this particular position (SP): The force start will place the pitcher in the #1 slot. I haven't tried the workaround, but perhaps the selection of all the starters as force-starts will alleviate it to a degree, but if he's the only one, that's where he'll start. To be reviewed in next version.

Are you telling me that you can't move him from the 1 slot? If not then it is a minor issue. I'll check it out.

You can move him, but if it's auto-selected, he'll start in the #1 slot.
