Why, when i send a man down to the minors have i always "demoted" him on transactions whereas the when a CPU team does it they have always "optioned" him. I fully understand how option years work, im just unsure why it always displays the transaction for me this way and for the CPU another.

Also, why (with scouting on) are the overall and potential (i use the 20-80 system) different on the player profile to the scouting report button.

Example...

On his profile page, 55/33, hit Scouting Report, 40/28.

It isnt that the scouting report is old and the profile is more upto date, as even on the several days throughout the year that new scouting reports generate, there is always a difference, with every single player, sometimes not much, sometimes a large differential.

Any ideas on these two chaps?

Looking through some players in my league I see the same thing, though not as drastic as yours. They all seem to be different by 3 or 4 pts.

I believe the behavior the OP is seeing is because of the position the player is set to at the time of scouting.

The responder's differences are likely just due to the time frame of the reports.

Not a definitive response, but my best guess. My advice is to not put a lot of weight on the overall rating in your evaluation of the player. Look at the pieces that go into that rating to get a better and more consistent picture in your mind's eye of what kind of a player you have on your hands.

I think it may be a small bug. I'll report it and see if we can't get it rectified for OOTP14.
