Mistake in scoring on runner hit by batted ball

Playing a game this morning and I am pretty sure the game gave me a run I shouldn't have gotten.

Bottom of the 7th runners on 2nd and 3rd. Batter hits ground ball between short and third hitting the runner. The game called the runner out and the batter was awarded a hit BUT the runner on third was allowed to score. I thought it was a dead ball and the runner had to return to third. I found the rule here:

7.08(f) He is touched by a fair ball in fair territory before the ball has touched or passed an infielder. The ball is dead and no runner may score, nor runners advance, except runners forced to advance. EXCEPTION: If a runner is touching his base when touched by an Infield Fly, he is not out, although the batter is out;

Something that needs to be fixed? Or is there an exception I'm missing.

You are correct, no run should score. Only runners forced to advance would move up a base. (Bases loaded, runner on second hit by batted ball, runner on first would advance to second, batter goes to first and runner at third remains at third.)

Either the game doesn't have this coded correctly or the fact that it was a ground ball into the deep infield meant that it had passed the shortstop or third baseman but hit the runner. In that case, it sounds like the runners could advance, but this seems unlikely to happen in real life. Were the infielders or the corners playing in?

You're right that the runner on third could advance if the ball had passed the infielder(s), which may well be what happened here; however, the runner who was on second should not be called out for interference in that case, so it's wrong one way or another.
