What season settings are you using?
Using 2012 or 2013 settings, I have about 120 season in iootp2012 and another 70 or so in iootp2013 and, in a 24 team league, had .400 seasons occur exactly twice, by the same player. You tend to get some big offensive seasons in the first couple years of a new league because there is a ratings creep that occurs over time as new and better players come in to the league and stay but the first several years the average player simply is not as good so an exceptional hitter beats up the mediocre pitching. That being said, something just doesn't seem right about that picture. Perhaps its the 170 OPS+, which would only be correct if the league OBP was somewhere around .470 and league SLG somewhere around .700

73 grand slams wouldn't even generate that many RBI.

Anybody have a greater season?
My thing is..6 k the entire 158 games he played? What settings did you have it on? And the fact his "eye" and "avoid k" aren't at 100, along with his contact at 100, have me scratching my head..

This has to be faked, sorry. Notice the number of walks? A walk doesn't count as an AB. so combining his W with his AB would mean 868 plate appearances over the course of a season. Bull****.

I was going to question the same thing. The rest of the team had to be killer. Thats 5.5 plate appearances a game.

So the plate appearance number is obviously high, but what about the RBIs in relation to the hits? Apparently this guy had runners in scoring position just about every time he came up to the plate. Walks sometimes generate RBI but come on how often are the bases loaded and you walk...

The number of plate appearances is high, and his total RBIs is even more crazy, but think about it. If his team had players rated as good or higher than him at every position (whether it be by a superb inagural draft, chance that the computer loaded this team, or by controversial methods that I won't mention here) then he probably would have had 6-7 PAs a game, especially if most of the games were blowouts. As for the RBIs, if his team was truly that good, he wouldve had runners on base almost every time he came to the plate.
To the user who posted this: Could you tell us a) if the team he played for was yours or not, b) if you used an inagural draft or not, c) what was that team's record and total team batting stats, and finally d) the other players' stats. Just go to that team's roster and go to View -> Batting Stats 1, and Filter to "All Batters". This might shed some light on whether this was real or fake. |

Just noticed the bottom portion is cut off that would show the progress date in the game, etc. Hmmmmm.....

Since I don't have this version, I'll defer to those that do.
Note the O in OPS+ is slightly cut off - by precisely one pixel off the left side. Is that normal? To me that usually indicates a cut/paste. |

Also, 280 hits and 281 BB would mean getting on base 561 times in 868 PA which is a .646 OBP as opposed to .637, and then you have to worry about errors, fielder's choice, and HBP. Add in previous posts and there's definitely something wrong with that picture.

Quote:
In baseball statistics, on-base percentage (OBP; sometimes referred to as on-base average/OBA, as the statistic is rarely presented as a true percentage) is a measure of how often a batter reaches base for any reason other than a fielding error, fielder's choice, dropped/uncaught third strike, fielder's obstruction, or catcher's interference (the latter two are ignored as either times-on-base (TOB) or plate appearances in calculating OBP). There isn't enough information to calculate OBP the formula is (H+BB+HBP) / (AB+BB+HBP+Sac Fly). The original poster has only posted once and if you click on his profile it was also the last time he was online. Seems to be an obvious fake. For this player to come to bat this many times this team had to ave scoring more than 8 runs a game unless they set a record for runners LOB.....
