Players with NTCs & 10/5
Do they ever accept a trade to another team?

Ok then, any advice on how to get rid of a werth-like contract?
Waived him but nobody claimed him, if I play him in R ball will he get so mad he'll retire or will he keep playing just to spite me? |

1) Yes, they do accept trades to other teams. This usually only happens when the player's morale/mood is angry or very unhappy.
2) Try trading for similarly bad contracts on shorter terms. For 2013, Werth's salary is at $16-million, then it goes to $20-million for 2014, then $21-million for the final three years. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to trade for him. What you can do is find somebody else with a ridiculous salary but in the final year or with only one year left. A decent option could be Barry Zito of the Giants. He will not be as useful as Werth in the short term, but that extra $20-million over the next 4 seasons may be worth it. Zito is an extreme, but you can probably find something else. Just use the Shop Player function on Werth and see what teams respond.

Search for teams with a weakness in the outfield, too. You may find a deal that way that won't show up in the shop a player function. I managed to spin Brian McCann (an awful contract that I gave him in 2015) for Justin Masterson (similar bad contract, but only one season left) by doing this even though the Indians didn't offer the deal when I shopped McCann around.
