Trouble with League Expansion Scheduling
So I decided to add two teams. I'd like to keep playing 162 games. How do I ensure I keep a correct schedule and playoff format? Back when I played ootp 13, it wrecked my league very badly. What can I do to avoid this? I do not want to generate a mlb schedule myself, that is unrealistic and too time consuming for me to go ahead and do that... What should I be downloading to ensure I can always add teams without a problem? What information do you guys need from me to help with answers? I can get the info (whatever it may be) later since I am at work and don't have m ygame lincensed on here. Thanks again every one. And I'm going to smack myself silly if I made a bonehead move by making this thread in a wrong section.

What's your new alignment going to be? There's a ton of custom-made schedule files in the Mods section; you may find one there that suits your needs.
Also, if you're afraid of any potential problems, just make a backup of your league prior to undertaking the expansion steps. That way, if something does go wrong, you can revert to your backup. |

The game's so customizable that using mods isn't hard at all, even if it takes a few steps. First, download the schedule from the link and save it anywhere, as long as you know where it is. And yes, do the expansion/realignment before loading a new schedule.
Go to League Menu -> League Setup -> Options. If you're in the preseason or the offseason, you'll see the schedule options on the right-hand side. Make sure all the options are set the way they are in the schedule you're loading (if they're different, the game will tell you that it can't import the schedule). So, in your case, you'll want to make sure that Number of Games is set to 162, Balanced Schedule is un-checked, and Interleague Play is enabled. Once those are set, click Functions (bottom of the screen) -> Edit Schedule. Then click the bottom-right button that says "Schedule..." and select Import from File. Navigate to the schedule you downloaded and select it, and it should import, no problem. One last thing: make sure you use the right schedule. If it's the AL that has 18 teams, use the first schedule I linked to. If it's the NL, use the second. That distinction matters, obviously. Last edited by Fyrestorm3; 05-07-2013 at 12:03 AM. |
