To Use Coaches/Scouts or Not?

I have always used Coaches/Scouts in my MLB games. However, I have had thoughts about not using them when I start my 2013 game today. Just wanted to get thoughts on those who use coaches/scouts and what some pros and cons are from both angles of the debate.

it's the only way I play! I play with hidden actual rating and hidden injury rating too. That way you are forced to rely on your scout and the stats to make player evaluations just like in real life. Personally, I don't enjoy playing when everything is 100% accurate and known to you, I like the unknown affect. Now its frustrating as hell when your scouts has a guy looking like the next Pedro Martinez in the draft and then after you sign him and get a re-scout he looks more like old "oil can" Martinez.

I have never seen a difference between using coaches and not using coaches. I have done both and really cant see where it is different. The scout is a totally different thing. With scouts, (from what I can see in 14) you can get reports on players progress and occasional found players on international trips, but without, you dont.

I still wish I could figure out what affects coaches have or what the difference it makes.

I like the use of scouts and right now my preferred way to play is with scouts on and hide the current ratings (like the player above). Sometimes it is a little annoying not having the convenience of the current ratings, but it makes it more interesting.

I have found coaches just extra busywork that don't add anything to the game.

I use scouts but not coaches. I like the fog of war that scouts provide.

As far as managers go I just think they don't have enough of an effect if any to take the time to deal with an extra layer of micromanaging. If I felt that a good pitching coach might help pitchers learn a new pitch or a hitting coach and change a hitters approach at the plate to help his patience for example I would be all about using them but as I said as they are right now I just personally don't find it worth the time or effort.
