Losing talent with an injury
Noticed that whenever a prospect gets injured his talent ratings tumble. Had a 5 star pitcher go to 3.5 after a broken finger. Had some other ones too. I can understand the player not developing while injured or stunting his development, but his talent should always remain the same.

If you break a finger and your breaking pitches no longer have the same bite, why should you remain a pitcher with "Brillant" stuff? Any scout could see that since your injury you just don't have the same skills.
I guess one could argue that intrinsically if a pitcher has the same "talent" its just the injury causing a lack of skill; but in this case I'd prefer it to stay the way it is; with the talent being adjusted you know have a way of measuring the degree to which the injury will impact your player. Its just a way of measuring the "permanent" impacts that the injury may have, and allows you to recognize that after this injury the prospect may no longer be the bright star you once thought he'd be. The talent hits that are directly attributable to an injury generally only occur after a serious injury; and too me that is realistic... some people just aren't going to be able to recover their previous greatness after a major injury (for example Bo Jackson). These talent hits do not occur after every injury, only the serious ones (if you're seeing it with Day to Day injuries then chances are you just happened to get a random drop at the same time). Not every serious injury will cause a talent drop; and this effects both major leaguers and minor leaguers. Also some players may recover some (if not all) of the talent they've lost due to injury in the future. |

You'd also figure he would also lose it with a more serious injury.

Yeah, if a guy loses his arm in a combine accident, then he should suffer a loss of talent.
If a guy gets his fingers mangled, he could become 3-Finger Brown. |

If you set up your injury.txt file so a runny nose could cause a player to be injured for 8 weeks the game doesn't know that the runny nose isn't as serious as a torn ACL. |

Speaking of mis-shapen-ness, Antonio "Six-Finger" Alfonseca is back to send my Cubs careening to oblivion. Give the ball to Borowski, Dusty!

Borowski is the man. I love how he pitches, he doesn't mess around. Alfonseca has looked pretty good since coming back though and any extra arm in that pen is fine by me.
