Please Help Would I enjoy this game?
I've read so much about this game and have been playing the IOOTP on my ipad. It seems much simpler on the ipad as the full version is much more in depth. I've never played a simulator of such nature but I love to manager my teams on MLB the Show and other various sports games stocking up on young talent and scouting players.
I found I was growing tired of always managing each game on a individual basis and was more into managing my roster and reading the box scores, acting more like a GM. Does this game really allow for you to succeed in doing so or am I missing out on some of good this game offer. I'm on the fringe of whether I want to invest the 40 bucks or not it looks quite in depth, I dont have hours upon hours to commit but it looks like it could be some good fun to pass while watching tv with the wife or cartoons with my son. Thanks all. J |

Sounds like OOTP would be just right for you. Given what you said about your likes and interests I think you'd probably love it.

Is it a time demanding game to get the most of it? I certainly dont have the time to sit and play hours on end. If I'd get on and play a half hour here and there would I be able to get the most out of it? Do I lose out if I run my team more like a GM than a on field manager watching every play by play moment during the season. As I stated I think I'd enjoy reading box scores and making financial moves and roster moves most. |

I would say yes. Part of what is great about OOTP is that it is so customizable that you can play a lot of different ways, from managing games, to playing GM, to going back and replaying a season from your youth, or even starting a completely fictional league.
So there is some learning curve, but I would think that if you wanted to do that for the 2013 season it's pretty easy to get up and running with the All-in-One mod that you download. You can download the game, the mod, and be up and running pretty quickly GM'ing a major league team. There are things that you can do to make your life easier, such as having your minor league managers manage their lineups, and it's pretty perfect for simming, managing your roster, making trades, and reviewing your box scores. |

I'm not sure if the all in one mod works with the demo or not, but from the Game Menu you go to Add-On Central and it will be called the All-In-One Mod which you download, then click install. The you'd start a new quickstart game and start with the current rosters, logos, uniforms, etc. That would get you into a current season quickly, where you can start as a GM for a team.
