Ideas on how to run Beta on MAC
I have a MAC and was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to potentially run the beta on there MAC? And I am starting this thread for people with MAC's to post if and how they have got the Beta to run on their MAC once its released! Thanks

I'm just using Windows 8 on Parallels.
You could try WineBottler (Windows applications on Mac) or Wineskin (Windows games on Mac). I haven't used either of these but I've always heard they generally work pretty well. You also have the option of installing Windows on your partitioned drive via Boot Camp. |

There are three ways to run it on Mac (with a Windows exe file)
I plan on writing a bit of a guide up later for it for anyone who wants to play until a Mac beta comes out. The first is bootcamp. You need a Windows License CD for it and have to run bootcamp using a partitioned hard drive. Essientially, you will allow your computer to boot up into a Windows or a Mac OS on start up. This is a long install and something I do not recommend doing if you only will play the FHM beta. The second is parallells . It is a paid program that runs a Windows virtual machine while you are on a Mac. Again, requires a Windows OS License. It's almost like playing a computer game within a computer while on your Mac. Again, it costs money and isn't recommended. The third is Wineskin. It's free and open source but is the least-stable of the three versions. It requires a wrapper in order to run the game. I have played betas in Wineskin before (Spy Party) but has the lowest chance of working. This is a process of installing, creating wrapper, and working. It essientially creates a smaller version of a Windows virtual machine exclusively for that game. Lots of people use it using custom wrappers for some of the larger games that aren't on the Mac (like Skyrim). Bootcamp will work best followed by Parallels and Wineskin but Wineskin is the easiest to set up and test. I will write a guide for the methods depending on how I get each to work. |

Have you heard of Virtual Box? A friend is suggesting it but it is something ive never heard of. It looks like it will run windows or anyother operating system sorta the same way bootcamp does
