Possible Alternative to FaceGen
Hey all, I was over at EHM yesterday and stumbled across the awesome work that helmspc did over there EHM 2007 Custom NHL Jersey Generator • EHM The Blue Line
Anyways, I was wondering if there was a way if we could do the same over here. I'm not that good with C++, but I have wondered if there was a way if we create the backs of the jerseys and somehow have the Names and Numbers inputed on to the jerseys, ala ea nhl series (or others sporting series for that fact). The team jersey and number would change as the player moves from team to team automatically, much like the current use of the FaceGen project allows the jersey to change and the face stays the same. I'm not sure how hard it would be to program that, if at all, into the game. I have begun assembling the fronts of jerseys from JerseyDatabase.com and they have very, very good templates to follow in Illustrator and Photoshop format. I'd be very intrigued if this was possible as I have started to also create some fronts that they do not have made over there used for the in game team logo (like my avatar). Obvoiusly I take no credit for the ones already done, I am just renaming the ones made for historical reasons to be used in game.

Looks pretty cool, however I still prefer facegen to be honest. That gives it the most unique and rich feel. Another thing is what about users that relocate teams, change a teams identity and so forth...? Say in my franchise I want to bring Hartford back or expand and bring a team to Seattle? Obviously there are not jerseys to accommodate that

Maybe like silvam has many fictional jerseys to choose from for the facegen project, it could be incorporated the same way with the numbers being constant, sort of, (like the faces) and jersey's have the ability to change. I'm thinking the biggest hurdle would end up being the number and how each jersey has their own number font and so forth and having the ability to keep that constantly flowing in between the different jerseys. Also having the number change with the player, as they change teams, may be impossible. Etc. Mike Richards #18 when with the Phila Flyers and now #10 with the L.A. kings

I would love to see it as well, unfortunately I only have 1 semesters worth of C++ coursework in college. That was about 8 yrs ago, so it's a little blurry right now...

I agree, since I come from OOTP, it's hard for me to play any game now like EHM because FaceGen makes the game so much more realistic. The game comes alive more with FaceGen and as Hockey13playa said, it gives you so much flexability to bring teams back from the past, create fictional teams and they feel so much more real because you SEE your players in their uniforms. I'm the first to say FaceGen has some limitations, like players probably needing some kind of head gear to make up for hair not really being a big possibility, but once you've played a game or two with FaceGen, you'll understand what I am saying and will absolutely love it. In my OOTP game for example, I've searched, hunted and dug all over the internet and found pictures for all 140+ players that are on my major league and minor league teams. It's so much more real being able to look at them and see faces to put with the names as I watch them grow into productive players.
