Drool Time: The (almost) Perfect Player
I have never seen anybody rated this high in all aspects of batting and fielding. OSA rates him higher than even my scout does! He's also rated Very High as a leader (but Low intelligence - so what if he's not an Einstein?). His only "faults" are less than maximum speed and he's merely good at bunting.
I can't wait until he's a free agent. No, I will not cheat and grab him now, although I could you know. I could! Admirable self-denial by me, I'd say.

Show us his stats. OSA is often wrong about players. I had my own perfect player once. Was depressing when he kept landing on the DL though...

I had a perfect player too. Matt "San Diego's" King. He played spectacularly for 6 amazing years. Then he tore his labrum. He hasn't been the same since. I had to trade him to the Dodgers to save the 15 million a season I was paying him. He did nothing with the Dodgers in two seasons and they voided his contract. He was a free agent and I was a unsigned GM. I signed to the Marlins and so did he (for very, very cheap and with a second option year). He did very little for me last season and I voided his contract. Now I just hope he retires or plays in a foreign or amateur league. I can't stand to see him putting up terrible numbers anymore.

Note the terrible potential ratings from his rookie league season. I always wonder, when I see this type of thing, whether it was one of those random changes in talent ratings or whether this was another player entirely back then (I have the option on to delete players who never make it to the major leagues and I think what happens is, when a player ID gets recycled, sometimes ratings history gets merged). I have a mind to turn this thread into a "Player Dynasty" report, not just for interest sake in what happens to him, though. I also want to see where the ratings go over time in conjunction with his performance. You may not have seen the last of "Earthquake" Boucher!

He has got reverse splits, too! For a right-handed pull hitter, that's pretty rare.

EDIT: Pretty even up until now in his career, but this year is skewing the previous ones. It will be interesting to see if this is just an anomaly so far this season or whether it continues.

I just mention that with pull hitters, they usually have heavy splits. Beeing right-handed might be a "disadvantage" here, since more SPs are right-handed too. But he beats it out aswell.

5 "years" ago. He zoomed through the minors and made his major league debut the same year. Next year, he was back in AA but not for long.
Heh, I see on his profile that he is still eligible for aritration but the AI already gave him a decent 4-year contract. He'll be a free-agent in 2041! *drool*

My dear sir, you wound me deeply. Have I not said this previously:
Quote:
But, it would be so easy, wouldn't it, to expropriate either or both of these players and build myself a dynasty? Thereby finally leave the netherworld of a few games above or below .500, season after season? Just imagine: Click, become commissioner. Click, open up a trade dialogue. Click, CLICK, give me these players for my 19th and 20th draft round picks. CLICK, FORCE TRADE! BWA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA! ![]() ![]() ![]() Uh, what just happened? Did I black out again?

I'd trade big time to get a pitcher like that.

Heh, my forbearance, rewarded (for once). He's very young yet, however . . .

Now he is exactly the kind of pitcher I do trade for!

Always, always, always send players who come off big injuries to the minors on a rehab assignment first before bringing them back to the majors. There are many threads out there of people with too much time on their hands doing statistical analysis of players who do a minor league rehab assignment vs. those who dont and their difference in player performance in short and long term.

Got a link to one? I'm on here (well, in General Discussion mostly) every day and I don't recall ever seeing any such thread.

I don't buy that this player was not just edited to these potentials. He went up for 12/4/14 CPE to 20/16/20 in one season then goes up to 20/20/20 the season after. Power goes up from 4 to 16, not very believable. I have never seen this happen to players and I have probably played thousands of seasons over the last 10 years.
