I have my AI evaluation settings set to 50% ratings, 30% current year, 15% prior year, 5% 2 years ago.

Is the AI smart enough to know that the 'current year' is only two weeks old, or is it basing 30% of its decision on my SP's first 2 starts?

Yes, ratings will have a greater impact until sufficient stats are available. Not sure how this impacts bench players getting few AB's as the season progesses though.

There has to be a minimum # of at bats before it uses the formula.

Hits/ABs is a meaningless metric.
