Historical league draft pools
How can I extract the year by year historical draft pools into a list or csv format?
Thanks in advance. |

Is there no way to do this? Or is my question too dumb to answer?
![]() Maybe I'm just asking the wrong question. I want to study these lists and then add some historical career minor leaguers/draft busts to every draft, with the ultimate goal being to have full (historical) minor leagues in about ten years or so. I am running my historical sim with full minor leagues with ghost players enabled. (At first I had tried augmenting the historical players with fictional players in the minors, but wound up deleting all the fictional players because they kept appearing in the bigs.) So any help appreciated. |

Download the Spritze Gambo database if you want career minor leaguers, Negro League players, and some Japanese players from past decades. You definitely do not want to attempt anything of the sort on your own unless you're a power database user.
If you know how to work with multiple CSV files and use the right software, you could build an Access database to do this and then re-export everything once you're done. But the historical database uses multiple CSV tables, and the information has to be pulled from several of these to achieve what you want. You also need to match up index IDs and be very careful if you're actually going to add or remove entries to the database. So it's not something for the typical spreadsheet user. Yes, it's certainly possible, but it's not recommended. |
