Stuck in A-Ball

Just saw that this guy has been "toiling" in A-ball in my fictional league. Any idea why the AI hasn't promoted him?

The AI sticks to roster limits even when you don't have them set it'll rarely put more then 25-26 players onto the higher levels so that will keep players stuck at a lower level.

Holy crap look at this guys hit allowed compared to the number of innings pitched. 2 times with less than 100 hits allowed while pitching 200+ innings. That's insane. Plus look at the k numbers. WOW!

Is he on an independent minor league team? Based on his picture it sort of looks that way since there is no major league logo in the upper right corner of the player pic.

Independent minor league team's horde players and they are stuck on that team until the team decides to release them. I'd go into commish mode or act as... and release him to the free agent pool. Major league teams should then pounce on him.

edit: I guess I meant to say unaffiliated minor league team's horde players. Since the teams are not affiliated with a major league team, there is no where for the players to be promoted to as the game believes the unaffiliated teams are an island without any connection to another team. Players will rot on these teams until the team releases them.

Odd that his morale is great, too. I would think a guy who clearly deserves a promotion would start to get annoyed.

Not true in my experience. Sometimes DL injuries will affect the filling if you use the AI to fill each level. An extra click or two will often fix it.

I use 30 player rosters in AAA and AA. I get 30 except for the above noted quirk.

Incomplete or not filled rosters may be an indication that you don't have enough players of a certain type. I was overloaded with OF so I noticed that the AI would put 10 in AAA and I had no backup infielders. I went too far the other way and ended up with 3 OF in A level which has no limit. It took me until recently to figure out that if I want 15 pitchers on a 30 man roster I better have more than 36 (3X12).

AI teams don't sign enough players, or they release players who can be used for roster filler. That will filter up to each higher level.

- Mountain View is abbreviated as TR to make it seem like he was recently promoted, in a failed attempt to obscure the fact that BABL is an indie league.
- The suggested role box is set to BABLA, which is another attempt to obscure the indie league thing.

This would have fooled me if not for the major league service time. I know OOTP's bugs well enough to know this was a joke thread.

I've been thinking that there are a few other trollish threads suddenly. I almost replied to one with that same accusation. I think you may be right.

Definitely not a troll thread. Not sure what the purpose of that would be.

He's up on the 40-man roster on a team he recently signed with which is why he's wearing the MV unis. And that leads me to how I figured out he was still in A-Ball...

He was a part of an organization that I folded (I actually folded two teams) but forgot to fold their minor league systems. So everyone who was part of those minor league affiliated teams were stuck. It's a bit unfortunate he spent the last 4 years in A-ball instead of in the majors but it adds a pretty intriguing what-if lore to Lozano in my universe.

Lesson learned... when you fold a franchise, make sure you delete their minor league system as well!
