Celebrations?
Anybody else tired of the locker room champagne celebrations??
They are so totally unspontaneous and unreal. It is like watching a TV sitcom. You do this and you do that which just feels like a performance for the cameras rather than a true celebration. It all feels false. Oh well, needed to get that off my chest. |

I have never seen anyone in one of those celebrations look disingenuous or as if they were performing. Are the celebrations staged/planned? Yes. They 'need' to be in order to make clean up easier. Does everybody pretty much do the same thing? Yes. Unless you're a Yankee, you're not going to get to do it very often so might as well have fun with it.

I find it weird that these celebrations only take place in baseball after each round of the playoffs, or clinching a playoff spot. None of the other major sports teams do this until a champion is crowned.
Maybe it's the fact that only a small percentage of teams get to play postseason ball, but it does seem ridiculous to celebrate, when nothing has been won yet really. That being said, hopefully the Tigers have 2 more of these festivities left in them..lol Can't wait for Tuesday night, I have tickets to the game and Verlander is on the mound! |
