BBDL (1991) has two vacancies - long running league about to start 9th season
The BBDL, a historical league which commenced in 1984, has just completed the 1991 season, and is ready to move into off season activities.
The Yankees and Mets are both available, with the previous owners (both well regarded) leaving at the end of the season just completed, for school and time reasons. The league uses coaches/scouts, a salary cap, and participation points to encourage/reward owner activity. The league has achieved parity, with 7 different teams winning the first 8 World Series. The Yankees won over 100 games in the 1991 but lost the World Series to the Pirates. Yankee stars include a 26yo Doc Gooden (multiple Cy Young winner in this league), a juiced up Kevin Mitchell (rated 12 for home runs), Joe Carter and Sid Fernandez. Other famous names on this ballclub include Donnie Baseball, Paul Molitor, Dave Righetti and Jim Abbott. The Mets had a 75-87 record, so would suit a new owner who is prepared to make some changes. but has some decent young guys to work with such as Rafael Palmeiro, Charlie Hayes, Frank Castillo as well as Nick Esasky, who has been one of the best long bombers in this league for several seasons now. This is a great opportunity to join one of the longest running OOTP leagues under the direction of one of the best organised and reliable Commishes going around. The league website is at http://bbdl.ootp-leagues.com/bbdl.htm Please contact the Commish (not me) at the address provided at the league website.

Yankees are still open. The new owner will have a challenge to get payroll down below the cap, after the previous owner's crazed FA bidding frenzy.
Rookie draft is underway (1st round just started via email draft).

I just wanted to say that this is a really well run league with alot of parity and the ability to turn around a franchise fairly quickly with smart management. Contact the commish now, if you want to join a great league.

Really?
Actually the reason the first Yankees owner quit is because the commisioner cut players to get them under the cap in the first place, thus leaving many holes. Don't join this league unless you want a headache. 3 GM's in 4 days. You do the math.

It helps if new owners read the league rules and understand that there is a salary cap in place. Not exactly rocket science.

I wasn't sure if the Yankees were still available or not, but I sent an application out anyways...
