The Commissioner

I am a veteran of running leagues of all types. Before simulation leagues, I had run MLB, NFL, and NBA fantasy league franchises for six years. After that, I assisted in running multiple Baseball Mogul simulation leagues until I broke off and formed my own successful Mogul league. Based on my success with that league, I was approached by the owner of ProFSL and was asked to begin the website's branching out process into simulation leagues. I spent roughly a year working with Out of the Park software and other leagues and found OOTP to be the best engine to launch this league.

I am experienced and am dedicated to making this league be one of the best around. I am fair with General Managers and always lean towards giving them the freedom to run their team however the wish, as long as it isn't detrimental to the league. I look forward to working with you to make sure you have the best experience possible in Front Office Pro.

The Testimonials

"I have been in a lot of leagues with a lot of GM's and a handful of Commissioners but the LOYO league run by Sowders was one of the best I have been in. It was by far the best single-handed effort I have seen and most people probably assumed it was run by multiple people based on the amount of work that was done on a daily basis. However it was just one perosn running the show so if you have to pick just one league to be in make sure it is a Sowders league." - mzylinski, Former General Manager

"Sowders is one of the best Commishes I know. His leagues are always well run and sims are run on the days they are to be simmed. He makes sure every team is filled and ran properly. I would join any league that Sowders runs." - daddies3angels, Former General Manager

"A good commish who is willing to listen to everyone's concerns but not just change things to make a couple of people happy unless it is good for the league. A league-first Commish who knows that in order to have a good league it must be fair, fun, and user-friendly." - terrythek, Former General Manager

"Sowders was always one of the most active members of the league and could be counted on to do anything extra that needed to be done." -- cfeedback, Forum Admin and Former Commish for Outahere Sports, a Baseball Mogul League

The League

Major Leagues
AAA League
AA League
A League
R League
NCAA (Independent Draft Filler League)
High School (Independent Draft Filler League)
  • General Managers will be in charge of creating their team from scratch. The location, team name, logo and even the stadium dimensions. You will even be in charge of designing your minor league teams. This is your team from top to bottom. It will have your heart and soul and when you win the championship, it will feel as good as it could without actually running a MLB team.
  • This is the very first simulation league brought to you by Front Office Pro, one of the premiere fantasy sport websites in the world. Their hosting of us sets us up for tremendous success and gives us a leg up on most leagues at this point.
  • Front Office Pro is a league that prides itself on giving General Managers the freedom to succeed and to fail. The freedom we give you within the game and the league will lead to much sweeter successes and even more bitter failures, coupled with optimism that you can get back to the top.
  • We have scouting and coaching on. This is one aspect of the freedom in this league that was mentioned before. Do you dedicate your extra money to the top players and give out major contracts or do you spend it on international scouting, getting the best coaching staff, and try to get an organizational leg up on the other teams?
  • No more fake college teams pumping players into the draft. We have inputted eight of the biggest college conferences to build the amateur drafts to add even more immersion to the league.
  • Ratings are on a scale of 1 to 5 while potential is on a scale of 1 to 10. This requires a good amount of analytically skill with the statistics and enough of a fog of war to put the burden on the mind of the General Manager, while not being completely useless and giving the General Manager a little bit of help.
  • Drug and conduct suspensions, as well as injuries, are all turned on to allow for even more immersion and create fascinating stories for the league to follow for years.
  • All cities, fan support, and media contracts will be equalized in the first year so everyone starts on equal footing. After that, you are on your own. There is no revenue sharing so your financial success or failure is entirely on you are your own decisions.

We have one more spot in Front Office Pro until we can start expanding. Make sure you get that one spot or you might be stuck on the waiting list.

Good news! We expanded to 20 teams!

Bad news... We already have 19 teams so if you want in, you need to sign up RIGHT NOW!

You should do some testing. I believe you have way too many feeder teams for your league size. The pool will be saturated with talent.

"Way too many" is a bit of an exaggeration but I hadn't seen that thread before (it would be nice if the really informative stuff like that was easy to find) and axed a couple feeder divisions. Thanks for the heads up.

Oh, I know and I completely appreciate his help. I just meant that it was just a handful of extra teams. Anyways, thank you once again.

The St. Louis War Pigs are available now to anyone who is interested.

We also have the GM of the Orlando Razor Sharks looking for a co-GM if you are interested but are looking for a diminished role.

E-mail me at fopcommissioner@gmail.com if you are interested.

We have filled up the open St. Louis team but we are taking lots of applications for minor league managers. These spots put you at the front of the line for when a team opens up or when we expand.

Just register in this thread and we will get you set up!
