Anything can happen iOOTP
Was playing a game and had the following happen (look at screenshot). Interested in seeing what others have seen. One of the many things I love about iOOTP.

I didn't take a screenshot but my closer was in a car crash before game 6 in the final of the playoffs and pitched to end the game with 3 strikeouts. I wasn't sure whether to be mad or happy.

Haha, I did not even know about this one and I went through all 50.000 lines of news/pbp text just prior to the release.

I just got a message/news item as I was playing. My owner died and now his son has taken over as owner of the team. Even though its just a game it still came as a shock to me. But it really shows how the world is growing around me. Its currently 2024 in a fictional league.

I got this news story about a suspension:
"Pittsburgh second baseman Brandon Phillips has been suspended for 7 games for an on-field tirade with an umpire that left Phillips standing in his socks. He was ejected from the Pittsburgh-Arizona game for disputing a strike call. Phillips let fly with a flurry of expletives, threw down his bat and hat, then went nose-to-nose with the umpire, bobbing his head and screaming. He turned to kick the dirt around home plate, ripped off his shoe and showed it to the umpire, then pulled back his sleeve and shoved his armpit toward the umpire's face. Phillips continued to argue, kicking off his other shoe. Another umpire stepped between them. After slamming the second show down, the irate player went over to the Pittsburgh dugout, fished out a batting doughnut from a bag, then paired it with another to make a mock pair of eyeglasses before slamming both weights down. The tour de farce ended after several minutes of confrontation. Phillips finally retrieved his bat, shouted a few more choice words and walked into the dugout. A bat boy retrieved his shoes and hat...and his eyeglasses, too." I love these types of stories. |

In one game the umpire called time, pointed to the warning track where a black strip of cloth had floated down from the stands. The announcer said it looked like a cummerbund or maybe "a little black, heh, heh, brassiere."
