So what has made you say "wow" already?

Just started my first day of real-time simulation, and as I was searching through some players profiles I realized their statistics update as the game goes along. A little feature that adds so much immersion for me.

What have you guys discovered?

Open "Explore world", there you can edit states and cities and also add them. We'll make the data fully editable ASAP (patch #2 or #3).

Couple things have really made me happy so far.

The Player Histories:
These look incredible. I imported my 1871-modern day game and I can now see exactly when Ty Cobb lead the league in hits, at bats, triples whatever! Also, I can see championships won (he won 10 with us) and it's all divided so nicely. I really want to thank Markus and co for that this was a big feature for me (and hopefully others) and means a lot.

Real-Time Simulation:
You gotta be kidding me with this feature! It's incredible. I just sat back and watched the first day the Sox play, with the other games and you can legit just watch games and enjoy it. See who scored, root for your team and get notices on injuries (Garza out for season in the third inning of his first game) Just unbelievable.

So far so good for me. Testing out the Random-debut feature now, can't wait to see how that goes!

I really dig the new default skin. Shiny graphics.

In fact, I'm really liking the general design overhaul. It looks so professional. I mean, it looked fine before, but now it seems modern.

Of course, the new baseball association feature is just fantastic. Big fan of that so far.

I am letting a historical league run from 1871 to present while I work. I also created an indy league to run alongside and I really like the region settings. I set it to include US, Canada, and Mexico, and I've got teams in all three. Very nice. This is something I had not put much thought into, but when letting a league dynamically evolve on the side, this setting will be very nice.

So I cant actually edit the world default file right now? If thats the case, what is the general time frame for patch 2 or 3? If I cant edit this file, it holds on the online league I want to start. I want to create two nations, combine a few others, and move states from one country to another.

JDevil,

I'm so sorry the manual doesn't have more detail about this yet. Unfortunately, the customization stuff often needs to get pushed to the back of the line while the main parts of the game get documented. And the @()Q#*$ game is so @#()$* big!!

I promise I'll keep working to get you some better documentation...

You can do that right now... simply work on the default world.xml file, the format is pretty much self-explanatory.

WOw?

What has made me say wow?

The return I was offered for Carlos Gomez (Yes the backup CF for the brewers).

I was offered players such as Eric Hosmer, Dominic Brown, Manny Machado, Brandon Belt, Brian Wilson.

I think the trade AI needs some work...

Well, I am looking into it now. However, keep in mind that the AI only knows ratings, not names. However, such things did not happen late in testing, maybe there is a bug somewhere, and if so, it will be fixed in Monday's patch.

Hmm, did you change any of the trade settings or is everything default?

OK, the issue is not the AI, but Gomez is overrated. A young speedy defensive wiz CF with good potential (72 / 80) will get you these players. I'll adjust his ratings in the next patch.

Yeh, Gomez doesn't seem to likely improve his K rate and walk rate enough to ever be a great player.

How fast the game downloaded and installed and the opening screen. I may keep the opening screen this year instead of adding my own.

Turn off your scouts. Hamilton is nowhere close to that low (if anything, I think Josh Hamilton is a little overrated ) and Murphy is not nearly that high.

The General tab on the player history screen only shows transactions.

No more looking through three screens of player history just to find out how the player was acquired.

Awesome.
