Have several vacancies on a roster, and the ML level needs a Bench Coach.
What are people's thoughts/experiences on skills required to fill this role. Thanks in advance |

Must be wacky as well, like Don Zimmer.
I just had to hire one for my team. I looked at the areas where my manager was weak (teaching fielding, handling rookies) and looked for personnel that was good in that area that weren't asking too much money. |

I usually look for someone that is good at teaching fielding since for my manager, I look mostly at "handle" ratings.

Me - Fielding & Handling what you have more of at the time or the most important players you have (Rooks or Vets) at the ML level.
Not sayin' it works, just what I tend to do !

I tend to go after coaches with good fielding coach ratings or sometimes i just go after 1 of my all time fav players. Harold Baines is my current bench coach.
