Extra bases
Just wondering: Is there (or can there be) a way that the person controlling a team can make the determination whether or not a player should attempt to go for an extra base? Right now, it's the CPU's call even for the team you are actively managing.

Yes. This, to me, is a huge problem. It certainly is not done properly. Many, many times I have base runners thrown out on plays where they would never try to take the extra base in real life. For example....down by 4 runs in the ninth inning and the batter tries to stretch a single into a double.....or down by 3 runs in the eighth inning and the runner trying to go from first to home on a double and gets thrown out. I must admit that this has been very frustrating to me...and as I said it has happened a number of times with different teams in different years. Thank you for bringing it up. In Strat you are given the choice as to whether you want to try to take the extra base and are given the odds of success.
