49ers 2005-2006 Season Thread

I believe our original one got lost in The Crash. However, the team is starting to play well enough to warrant another one I think.

Today they are playing well against the Giants after playing a good game against the Bucs. Cody Pickett should be moved up the depth chart to backup when Alex Smith comes back. He throws a much better ball than Dorsey does. The offensive line is starting to improve and so is the running game. I think things are looking up for us.

Brandon Lloyd just made one of the best catches I've ever seen.

Holding call brought it back.

Oh, and also... whoever it is that's calling this game is the BIGGEST GIANTS HOMER EVER.

Agreed. That catch was definitely up at the top of the list. Too bad it may never make a highlight.

Finally a kicker that can get it through the uprights consistently. Niners have outplayed the Giants except for the penalties this afternoon.

The Giants have been called for 7 penalties (55 yards). The 49ers have been called for 6 penalties (40 yards). The Giants have 150 yards passing. The 49ers have 53. I think you have a word wrong in your post.

Make that 10 penalties for 81 yards on the Giants, with no end in sight.

I'm convinced now that the Niners must have the worst offensive coordinator in the league. After a 49 yd run gets them down to the 3 yard line, they get a scramble, an corner pass which could have been called either way, but the play I can't believe is a QB draw. Dorsey has no mobility. Why do you not even attempt a run from the 3 yard line? This is just another game that the Niners red zone offense is going to cost them.

One could call this Lloyd's breakout game. He has made some fantastic grabs, gotten 102 yds receiving and 1 TD. I think he could become a special receiver for the Niners. His route running ability seems to be getting better every game. He just did a great double move to get open for his touchdown grab. He's definitely got the hands. His catch in the first half was absolutely stunning.

A better game for Smith but the INTs are still hurting. I believe he has 11 now in 3 games. Boldin had an amazing TD catch and run. Not a lot of action in this game hopefully Smith took something out of it. He did make some really nice throws though.

Yep... I was amazed at how poor the 9ers tackling was.
