Illegal Number Of Players
Ok, how does a team i am not playing keep ending up with an illegal number of players, its annoying, Make that illegal number of players on active roster, they have 34 and its after sept 1st and one of rookie leagues have only 12, thought the AI was supposed to work the team

Did you import his league from OOTP 11? Are you in the playoffs?

Are the teams AI controlled?
Go to league setup, functions, run computer manager on all teams. |

After applying the patch, I too got a message that said "Surprise has illegal number of players on active roster. (8)." And it was on or about September 1st. Well ... surprise ... all of my organizational team had at least 25 players on rosters. Only had four players in entire organization out with injuries - all on the 15-day DL.
I tried running the computer manager on all teams. It fixed the problem, but it also called up a bunch of minor league players I did not want to call up, AND inserted them into my starting lineup (changed all my depth charts). I had two open spots on my 40 man roster, which were filled with players I was trying to save money by keeping them on minor league contracts. Anyone else run into this? |

It is rare but this sometimes happens on 9/1 when the roster expands. Teams call up players to the active roster and cascade promotions sometimes leaving the lowest minors club who may be in a playoff situation with not enough players. Two suggestions.
1. Make the AZL playoffs one game series. This is true to real life. At least it was at one time and helps ensure that the AZL is completely finished by 9/1. You might want to edit start data in options so they start say a week earlier as well. 2. Turn on allow ghost players in the minors on 9/1 and you can turn it back off when the GCL and AZL have finished their playoffs. This generates a generic player called Joe Nobody for each spot needed to meet minimum roster requirements. So the game can sim if a team does not have enough players. |
