Photo set

I downloaded the COMPLETE PHOTO SET BY GAMBO/TWILL - on the PADRES FAN - OOTP MOD site.

How do you utilize these photos? My league is still showing face generated photos instead of the actual downloaded photos.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Put the pictures (unzip and/or copy) in the following directory:

Ootp 12 folder -> data -> photos

In my very specific case it is:

D:\Games\Sims\Ootp 12\data\photos

I have them saved in OOTP 12 - PHOTOS

Still do not see the actual photos; I had already started the league - do I need to do anything special for these photos to show up?

I am only showing face generated photos.

Thanks!

I am having the same problem. Returning to the game after a 3-year absence, I knew it inside-out at one time, but now I'm like new to the game.

I am using a Mac, and the file path your mention above is not present on my installation. I downloaded the photo set, and it was placed in a newly created folder within Library/application support/.

Is this a Mac bug? Could I perhaps create the file path it expects to find?

So far the only way I have found is to import each picture, one at a time, from the individual players page. Pain in the ass. Surely there is a preference someplace to link all the pictures to the corresponding players' records.

Any advice?

I am using a PC not MAC --- cannot figure out how to display photos, after uploading and installing in the correct file a huge database.

I already had the league running, do I need to make some special adjustment for this to work? The league currently only displays face generated photos. Thanks!

try this....Go to League Options & Rules - Player Pictures - Update Player Pictures or 1 of the other options from there...U can also find the same basic option under normal League Options & Rules also in the middle column.

Let me know if ya cant find it and i'll add a Screenshot.

Well, for one thing the file on Padresfan's site is setup in decade then year folders and that won't work in the game. You need to get the file that has all the photos in the root photos file when you download. Iirc you need to go to the mods section, photos, and look for the guy that has a link in his sig, I forget who that is.

Alternative is to transfer all the photos from your download to one folder but it's a huge pain, I did this a couple years or so ago. After the first few years there are dups and it becomes very time consuming.

1 way I did that (I have since deleted all photos since i only use facegen now) Is for my historical league I would cut & paste each decade as I reached them So all of the 1870's then 1880's etc. So If you are playing modern all you would want is 92ish thru today.

Modern for me is 1960-1975.

Sorry if I wasn't clear that the photos needed to be inside that directory and you couldn't keep the zipped directory structure.

One other thing I am seeing in Ootp 12 is that some players' names have changed from Ootp 11. For example John McGraw is now John J McGraw. The photo name has to match up with the player name, so in this example john_mcgraw.jpg worked in 11 but won't in 12. You would need to rename the file john_j_mcgraw.jpg to get 12 to recognize and import it.

I'm currently in 1904 and I've found ~40 players so far with names different than before. Most now have a middle initial, some are now Sr or Jr.

To be fair, I'm using photo set I downloaded over a year ago. I don't know if they have placed a modified set on the download site yet or not.

Hopefully Spritze or Gambo's DB will fix that.

Just FYI, I have made two improvements to the photo situation today.

1) The latest and greatest complete photo pack is now available from Add-Ons Central. Simply Download and Install.

2) The "photos in a single folder" (vs. broken up by decade) version of the photo pack is now available from my mod website....
