Adjusting team markets

Stupid question... can anyone tell me what the "adjust team markets" button in league setup is supposed to do? I hit it during the middle of a fictional season and every team's fan interest number reset to 65, which I didn't expect. Also, when you hit it, what effect does returning attendances to average have? What average are they talking about?

<hr /></blockquote>I hit this in my European League and it reset all teams to about 30. I read that it's used to average the attendance turnouts in the game (I think I came across it in the FM).
