Question about drafting

Hello everyone. I have been playing OOTP for 3 years now, and I just purchased OOTP 12. I am posting on the New to the Game forum since my question is a newbie one, and I know all the folks on the forum are quick to help those of us with less knowledge of the game.

I am wanting to play a 1979 historical league with 16 teams instead of 26. If I delete the additional teams, is there a way to draft the players from the deleted teams while leaving the other players on the original rosters? Thanks in advance for your help!

The only way I know to do this is to delete the teams you choose then assign the free agents to the remaining teams as you see fit (commish mode).
