Fights on 6/5
In between a good hockey game tonight, I have been expermienting with online sites looking for a possible replacement for my directtv. While teh quality I have seen so far leaves somethign to be desired, I was able to find the Chavez Szib fight. I only saw a replay of Martin's last moments inher bout (looks like she got hurt but insisted she could continue) and the final four rounds of the Chavez fight. The chavez fight from what I saw was Chavez was dominating the bout with LOW BLOWS very often and the ref refused to do anything about it (which tells me Chavez won this bout) Dint have time for the Johnson fight but love to read about it here. (and if ANYONE knows of a GOOD replacement for my direct tv post it!)
Thanks |

Froch/Johnson was real good. carl dominated down the stretch for a well earned decision. Glen just couldn't keep up with his pace but he landed a lot of clean right hands.

The Froch vs Johnson fight was good, but barely competitive. The fact the Zbik or Chavez are fighting for a world title is a good indicator on just haw far the sport has fallen. I thought Zbik won, but he fights like an amateur.
Chavez has so many bad tendencies that at his age, they will never be corrected. The cannot make the Chavez Jr. vs Sergio Martinez fight. Martinez is way too pretty to be incarcerated for manslaughter.

The thing about the Froch-Johnson fight that struck me was the size of the ring. You knew Froch, because of his manuverability, had a distinct advantage in a 24 foot ring. I thought it was a factor in Johnson never being able to apply the relentless pressure that is his trademark. To Froch's credit he took what Johnson offered and always answered back with something. 116-112 was the way I saw the fight. I don't know what fight the judge who scored it 114-114 was watching.
As for Zbik-Chavez Jr., neither of these guys is a top flight middleweight and it showed. I also didn't like that Chavez came into the ring weighing as much as cruiserweight while Zbik was barely a super middleweight. Unless Chavez Jr. is matched carefully or fights exclusively in Mexico from this point on, he won't retain the belt against any credible challenger. |

I thought Zbik won, but neither guy is a world beater. If Chavez fights Martinez he will get killed. The ref was horrible blaming Chavez low blows on Zbik for holding his head down. Chavez was coming in with his head low, and Zbik was just protecting himself.
I love watching Froch. He has a fun style to watch, and showed the heart of a champ. The Ward fight is going to be an excellent fight. I am looking forward to it. |

I had Froch 118-111. I think Ward will beat him. Froch is better from distance. I believe that Ward will crowd him and take a decision somewhere in the 8-4, 7-5 range.

sounds like the johnson fight was much better. Does anyone here use netflix and or hulu for tv streaming (or at least recommend somthing?) $99 for a sat bill is too much and looking at other options....
In TBCB matters If anyone out there is interested I just simmed about 10 or so years on a new 1000% ficitional league and can include top fighters (Like one with a 41-3-3(10) or something close to that record) and include judges, refs, trainers and cutmen all 100% fictional but some are pretty good though. |

I hope he does fight Sergio, that might be the only thing that derails the hype train
