When Does AI Sign Draft Picks?

I am 15 days prior to the end of the signing period and I have several friends that were drafted by other teams, but those teams have yet to sign them.
So when will the AI sign them? On the very last day? I did take control of those teams and had them offer them what they were asking for, so all of the "friends" have pending offers vs awaiting offers.

They'll sign them June 20.

July 7th.

July 11th.

Etc.

I've seen a draft where the top 5 guys all signed within 2 weeks and I've seen drafts were most of the 1st round isn't signed until August.
