how to set the new playoff format for this year

Not going to happen for 12, but you'll be able to do it in 13.

Well in v12 you still can change the number of teams and weather or not they use posistion or seeds and the number of games each series is. You can change this all the way till the last day of the season I believe but not 100 percent sure on that part.

As far as more expanded playoff options than that you will have to buy v13 to get that.

Do you know if I import a .lg file from 12 into 13 that is in midseason will I be able to change to the new playoff format?

If I recall correctly I think you can change the customized playoff format right up until the end of the regular season. Not that I would recommend that, however. It's always best to make some changes in the off-season/pre-season periods.

Thanks for the reply! It makes sense that it is best to make the change during the preseason/offseason but since Cubby came through with a great roster set and BigRod put up the schedules so timely it looks like I may be far enough into my season I may have no choice but to change it after the start of the season when I import.
