Today, during reading further sections in the doc (by the way, pretty good written^^), I've found this section:

Risky statement isn't it - I mean the correlation between intelligence and drug abuse.
Or is the statement that they get more easily caught, because they are 'dumb' ?

By the way, are drugs a similar problem in baseball like in other sports?

I think it's supposed to represent a mixture of the two things you mention.

As for whether drugs are a problem in baseball the short answer is yes. Until pretty recently there were no sanctions for players caught taking steroids.
