Post Positional Player as Pitcher

Just an interesting discovery...

While playing around with my fictional league (I've been simming seasons to tweak the settings), I began a new season by simming a day at a time and checking the box score and game logs after each game. I noticed that in one game, two teams had played an extra-inning game that went 16 innings and used about 6/7 pitchers each. To my surprise, I discovered that the losing pitcher was a backup catcher!! So the computer AI will sometimes insert a positional player as a pitcher in certain situations.

The sad thing Is....The game wont keep the pitching stats for that catcher after the season ends. Replaying history you'll get some players that can play a normal postion and pitch have decent If needed. But sadly to save space the game decides there career pitching stats arent important.

That sucks. In my fictional, I have a backup SS who's pitched 3 scoreless innings! Maybe I'll write that into his history page, if the stats will be lost next season

wow you've had better luck then me. My backup 1B\3B baseman In my fantasy league(no dh)pitched 10IP last season(over a few games) and had a era of right around 6.60

But I had no choice had to use him as a extra relief picture for a small period thanks to some Injurys. And there was no way I was gonna rush my prospects or make a trade. luckly during those 10IP he hit 3 hrs for me.

BasicGuy and JML,

Once Pierre gets his CSV Reporter finished for version 4, then it's just a matter of saving and exporting all the stats for the players.

I haven't had a position player pitch yet in v4, but in v3 I am pretty sure the pitching stats were saved.

Don't remember if I had to change the player's primary position to P to view stats or not.
