Winter League

Hello,

First, happy new year to all and best wishes for this 2012.

Second, I'm new in this forum.

Third, I would like to make a Venezuelan winter league but using real players instead of ficticious.

Also the league structure and some team names need to be modified, by defaul the game has two divisions, but nowadays it's only one division with 8 teams inside.

What would be the steps to build the rosters using real players?

Hi Plpazodo. Happy New Year and welcome! I've been an extremely long time lurker and occasional poster on these forums. Although I'm not 100% positive, I believe what I'm going to say is correct.

You can modify league configurations pretty much any way you want. If the league has gone to 1 division, you can move teams from one division to the other, than get rid of the division that no longer exists.

As far as using real players, that would be hard to do for a Venezuelan league. Major League Baseball, and a few others (PCL, Negro Leagues, others?) have had databases constructed that allow you to do this. I don't believe there is a database for the Venezuelan league.

Hello,

Well, So far so good doing the correct league structure, team names, logos, jersey and caps.

The ballparks I have to try to find good pictures.

Regarding rosters, I have been able to import some players from historical.db using the player ID found in baseball-reference, but most of the players in this league are not completely in MLB and is not possible to import them, so it seems that the only way is to create them by scratch with ratings and everything.

Do anybody knows any other way?
