Any way to fix the draft pool?

I've noticed in our league the draft pool doesn't resemble a real life pool at all. There'll be a bunch of 2 pitch pitchers with 8 stamina, and a bunch of really good middle relievers. Our latest draft broke down like this:

SP 13% (3/24) and in the real life 2010 draft, it was SP 47% (14/30)

How can we get a draft pool with more starting pitchers to make it more realistic going forward? or is editing the guys myself the only productive way?

Two choices:

1) Edit

2) Delete some players and create new ones using the game, telling it what position you want. Make them available in the amateur draft.

Thanks Cooley, never thought of the create new player method. Then I can just create a handful of starters and be good to go with a lot less time than it takes to edit everyone

A bunch of those 2 pitch pitchers with 8 stamina are starters. Just not at the ML level. I would pay more attention to 2 things.
1) What does the game recomend they be at the low minor league levels. They will probably be starters.
2) Do you have enough starters at the ML level. If you do then players are developing through the minors to become competent at the ML level.

Very few are ever developing that 3rd pitch, which leads them to pitch well in the minors and really struggle the higher level they get.

We're only in 2012, so 99% of our major league pitchers are still guys who were made in 2009 when the game was released, so it's basically something I'm trying to avoid having a problem with in a few years, so trying to be proactive

It should be noted you can tell it how many players to create and just do it one time. That'll save some time if you weren't aware of that option.

Although if you do it one at a time, you can go look at the new player each time you create to make sure you get what you're wanting. If not, delete him and do it again.
