Many of you have taken part of these MLB GM leagues. Well, the ones where you just manage a team. Now what about a leage where every player is handled by a real live person? They develop, because a real person wants them to. They become a star, because you are dedicated you your player. Would you be interested in joining a league where not only can you manage a team, but a player (or three) as well?

The Bring the Heat League offers you the best of both worlds. By doing some simple tasks, you can earn points to develop your prospect created specifically for you, and turn him into the player even Babe Ruth wishes he was. At the same time, you can make all the right trades to turn your team into a champion. BTH offers you a lot more than any other league, especially a lot more fun. You can even join live chats to see the boxscores come across your screen at the same time as anyone else, talking, interacting, and having fun, and thats off of the forums. The forums offer a lot more to the imagination.

Want to create a player? You can choose his name, position, height, weight, nicknames, etc. Everything customizable in OOTP, you can change besides his ratings and age. Those come at random, and it is your job to work with those. You can change his ratings once created, through a few different ways. For instance, those sims I talked about, thats 1 point for every sim you attend, and you can earn up to around 25 points a season just in sims! With the player scales being 1-100, those points can rack up fast and easy! Besides that, simple short articles can earn you 0-3 points per article, up to 30 points per season! A season takes a couple months, so 10 articles in that time? No problem. You can even use your player's contract money to buy articles!

Contract money? How do you get that? Well, once you are drafted, you can play out your career like a pro! Don't like the team you were drafted to? Simply don't sign a contract extension, and you can hit the free agency market. From there, let all of the other manager bid on your services. The money you earn, you can spend on the forums to even upgrade your player further. Its so simple and fun, I don't know how you couldn't enjoy it! Most of all, it is a good way to make friends, and also, let your creative side out by developing a player story, which can be used for those articles.

anyway, I've been a part of this league since its inception, as well as its predecessors, and I have to say that the members are inteligent and make for great discussions, and it's loads of fun to follow your players' career story and writing about it. Just wanted to give this a bump. The BTH is still going strong and we are about to finish up our 8th season. We are always looking for new players and GMs. Of course, you only need to own OOTP 6/6.5 if you want to be a GM. I recently took over as commissioner of the BTH and I have been running player leagues since 2004 so I can guarantee you'll be joining a great, well run league!
