Setting up league...

I would like to get back into OOTP. I have messed around a little with each version but have never dug deep into it...always seemed to get side tracked. When I was messing with it..I pretty much messed with Fictonal starts.

What I would like to really do is this start with a year...say 1980. Start with real life players from that year on their original teams. In the new player draft each year I would like the draft pool to be from real life players who came into the league in that particular year. Then conduct my own draft. So when someone like Dwight Gooden is a rookie/first year player...he might get drafted by say...Pittsburgh.

1. Is this possible?
2. Is it fairly easy for a someone who is somewhat of a noobie at setting up OOTP leagues to handle?

Yes its certainly possible. When you go to create your game, there is a historical option where you can choose to start in any year you wish. The draft pools for the following years will contain the real players that were drafted that year.

As for the ease, since pretty much everything is handled in game, I'd say its pretty easy.
