Really, this doesn't deserve a new thread at this point, does it?

JWay, a master of timing, just like Brett Favre.

I'll believe it when I see Javaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels.

Didn't he retire like 10 years ago?

If you ignore him long enough, he might actually go away.

he'll stay gone until some starting qb on a contender, mark sanchez, gets injured and the team feels pressure to make a big move

He will only be playing for one team possibly two this year. No way he plays for anyone other than the Vikings or possibly the Packers if they came calling. Plus hes under contract with the Vikings so they'd have to either release him or trade him to go somewhere else. I dont see that happening. Last edited by jbergey22; 08-04-2010 at 02:28 AM. |

He'll be back in about 2 weeks. This game has gotten old.
Maybe, at the age he is at he just doesnt want to deal with training camp anymore. (though, if I was a teammate such a stunt would p!$$ me off a bit if I am trying to keep from passing out in 100 degree heat during a drill)

Why would the Packers want Favre back? Aaron Rodgers put up almost identical numbers to Favre last year, and is 14 years younger.

My reply was that I could only see him coming back to 2 teams under any circumstances. Vikings or possibly the Packers. With emphasis on the Packers still being very unlikely. Last edited by jbergey22; 08-04-2010 at 11:07 AM. |

Ego. I don't recall him saying anything publicly about this. Again, I'm in awe of the public's thinking they have any room to speak about anyone who can't decide whether to retire or not. Sports or any other occupation. Its up to them. As long as someone is willing to pay you for work you can opt in and out all you want.
The media is the one to blame for cramming this down our throats; not Favre. If he wants to work, fine by me. If he doesn't, again, fine by me. Its not gonna make one difference in my life whether he does or not. Its his life. |

He also didn't post 3 different threads on these boards about himself as well
, I'll miss Favre but maybe I'm old school and like players with a bit of character rather than the robots of today.

Its the flavor of the month to complain about Favre. People love to follow trends and every year about this time this becomes the trend. He is still the 4th most popular athlete in American sports today.
