Two questions: Position generation & Waivers
1) There are WAY too many MR in my league. In fact, too many are created. I'd say anywhere between 4-6 of the top 10 draft picks every year are MR. On the contrary, not enough SP are generated. Is there a setting for this, or do I have to manually convert a ton of MR to SP?
2) Since it happens so often, when a player goes on or off the DL, I just allow the computer AI to make all the needed roster moves. However it totally peeves me when the computer places a four-star player on WAIVERS! What is the thought process here, and other than manually doing this myself, do I have any options? |

If you are using feeders it is well know you seem to get an excess crop of MRs. I have heard some talk a patch may address that but I do not remember when or whom from so that don't take that as a given.
As for waivers, most likely the AI is demoting a guy who no longer has options for some reason. You would have to look at who it is bringing up and maybe the MRs stats and ratings to get an idea why the AI wants to demote the guy to the minors. If no option years are left, a player must be placed on waivers and clear waivers to be demoted to AAA. Honestly, since I do promotions and demotions I rarely have a guy I will miss much out of options. So it isn't a problem. Sometimes I do have a backup who has bounced up and down with injuries, had someone better signed in the offseason, or just not performed well I am careful to keep from demoting him unless it is absolutely necessary. I am not sure the AI uses such caution. The other reason for waivers is that if you need to promote someone who is not on the 40 roster you to the majors you have to have room on the 40 man rosters. So sometimes although I thought i have planned really well I have to put a player on waivers to take him off the 40 man so I can promote some to the majors who was not on the 40 man roster. This might happen even more with the AI than with me. I try to keep fewer than 40 on the forty man roster if I can. |

Many of the MR have starter's endurance but only two pitches. They would be great starter's if they had another pitch. The are high risk, high reward picks because they could develop another pitch while in the minors, but they might not. The AI will use them as starters at any level below AA.
