Radical Realignment League

Hi All,

Below is link to a quickstart of a league that I am using as a solo. I thought that other people might enjoy the scenario once I had set it all up.

It is based from an article I saw linked on this board a number of years ago from Charles O'Reilly called "A New Baseball Vision for the 21st Century".

In the article he outlines the changes he would make to baseball to get rid of what he describes as anachronisms within the game. He removes the American and National Leagues, merging the teams into 5 regionally and rivalry based divisions:

East
Baltimore
Boston
NY Mets
NY Yankees
Philadelphia
Washington

South
Atlanta
Cincinnati
Florida
Houston
Tampa Bay
Texas

North
Cleveland
Detroit
Milwaukee
Pittsburgh
Toronto
Minnesota

Central
Arizona
Chicago cubs
Chi White Sox
Colorado
Kansas City
St Louis

West
LA Angels
LA Dodgers
Oakland
San Diego
San Francisco
Seattle

The league plays a 162 game schedule with 18 games against division opponents and 3 against each of the other teams.

I have taken the Major League quickstart included with OOTP11 and performed the realignments. I have also enabled DH for the league, though this is mostly because I think OOTP deals with the lineup better with the DH.

I play solo as stats only, and have altered the AI eval for that. If you play with ratings on, these would need to be changed back to the defaults (or other settings if you prefer.

I also play with a salary cap (I've set it to $127M at this stage), but I saved the quickstart prior to this being set.

I have also made use of other fanatastic mods that are available:

Justafan's Glossy Circular Logos
Padresfans Park.dat file from his The Show ballparks
reds1's 2010 MLB and MiLB Uniforms
30 Team, 5 Division Schedule by gmo

A big thanks to those guys for making my time with OOTP more enjoyable. Hopefully those guys don't mind parts of their stuff being part of this quickstart.

I downloaded this to give it a shot, but when I attempted to create the game, it just shut down OOTP11.

Is this for X only? Any advice? Looks fun, but doesn't work for me yet.

Quit edit: Tried in OOTPX and was told to load it in 9. Tried in OOTP9 and the game shut down again as it did in 11. Has anyone gotten this to work?

It's definitely for OOTP 11, I've created games from the quickstart before. Has anybody else had issues?

Maybe try redownloading and try again?

Yep, I can't get it to load either. It crashes to desktop at setup.

Seeing as it works for some and not for others, out of interest are all of you patched to 11.1.8?
